Biophilic design is a concept that seeks to connect people with nature through architecture and interior design. It incorporates natural elements, such as plants, natural light, and water features, into built environments to create spaces that promote health and well-being. The philosophy of biophilic design was popularized by American biologist Edward O. Wilson in the 1980s. Wilson believed that humans have an innate connection to nature and that incorporating natural elements into our surroundings can improve our physical and mental health. Today, biophilic design is widely used in architecture and interior design to create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also promote a sense of well-being and connection to the natural world.
